Terms of Service
Effective date: May 27, 2026 · Replaces all prior versions
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of VoltExam applications, websites, and services (collectively, “Services”) operated by Deeun Inc. (“VoltExam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading an app, creating an account, or using our website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.
1. Eligibility and Account
You must be at least 18 years old to use VoltExam. By using our Services you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to form a binding agreement.
Each account is for a single individual. You may not share your login credentials, allow others to access your account, or use a single account on behalf of multiple people. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts we believe are shared.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at arun@voltexam.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
2. iOS Apps and Web Platform Are Separate Products
VoltExam offers two distinct product lines with separate pricing, features, and distribution channels:
- iOS Apps (App Store) — Individual per-trade apps sold through Apple’s App Store. Each app covers one trade or certification subject, includes offline access and native mobile features, and is purchased through Apple’s in-app purchase system at a price set for that specific app. Purchasing one iOS app does not grant access to any other iOS app or to the VoltExam web platform.
- Web Platform (voltexam.com) — A browser-based study platform accessible via subscription or lifetime purchase directly on our website. Web plans provide access to all available trade question banks on the web. Web access does not include the native iOS app experience, offline mobile access, or any iOS-specific features. Purchasing a web subscription does not grant access to any iOS app.
The two product lines are priced and delivered independently. Pricing differences between iOS apps and web plans reflect differences in product scope, distribution costs (Apple charges a commission on App Store purchases), and feature sets. We make no warranty that pricing will be equivalent across channels, and no adjustment or refund will be issued based on pricing differences between channels.
3. Web Subscriptions and Billing
When you subscribe on voltexam.com, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method as described below.
- Free trial. The monthly plan includes a 3-day free trial. Your payment method is saved at checkout but will not be charged until day 4. Cancel before day 4 from your account page at voltexam.com/account and you will not be charged.
- Recurring billing. Monthly ($9.99/month) and yearly ($24.99/year) plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You will receive an email reminder before each annual renewal.
- Lifetime access. The $59.99 lifetime plan is a one-time purchase with no recurring charges. Access continues for as long as the VoltExam web platform is operational. In the event VoltExam permanently discontinues the web platform, we will provide at least 60 days’ notice and a prorated refund to active lifetime subscribers based on time elapsed since purchase, at our discretion.
- Cancellation. Cancel anytime from your account page. Access continues through the end of the paid period. Cancellation stops future billing and does not trigger a refund for the current period.
- Refunds. Because access is granted immediately upon payment, we generally do not issue refunds after the free trial ends. If you experience a technical issue that prevented you from accessing the service, contact us at arun@voltexam.com within 7 days of the charge and we will review it on a case-by-case basis. Refund decisions are final.
- Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before increasing the price on your active subscription. The new price takes effect at your next renewal. You may cancel before the new price applies.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you by email. We may grant a short grace period of up to 3 days before suspending access. We are not liable for lost study time resulting from a failed payment.
4. iOS In-App Purchases
In-app purchases within iOS apps are processed exclusively by Apple Inc. and are subject to Apple’s payment terms, refund policies, and App Store guidelines. VoltExam does not process, receive, or have access to your Apple payment information. Refund requests for iOS purchases must be submitted directly to Apple via the “Report a Problem” feature in your App Store purchase history or at reportaproblem.apple.com. VoltExam cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
5. Provided “As Is” — No Guarantee of Results
VoltExam is a study aid, not a guarantee of exam success. We are not responsible for the outcome of any certification exam, licensing test, or evaluation you take. Your results depend on many factors outside our control, including your preparation, the specific exam version, and the standards set by the licensing authority.
All content — including practice questions, explanations, reference tools, and calculators — is provided for educational study purposes only. It is not a substitute for official training programs, accredited coursework, apprenticeships, or on-the-job experience required by your trade or licensing authority.
6. Accuracy of Content and Regulatory Information
We work to keep our content accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee that every question, answer, explanation, regulatory requirement, exam fee, or code edition reflected in our apps is free from error or reflects the most current standards. Licensing authorities, exam providers, and code editions change without notice.
You are solely responsible for verifying current requirements directly with the applicable licensing authority before making decisions about your license application, exam registration, or career path. Do not rely solely on VoltExam content for professional licensing decisions.
7. No Professional or Field-Use Reliance
The tools and calculators within VoltExam — including but not limited to voltage drop calculators, pipe sizing tools, load calculators, drug dosage references, chemical dosing tools, and coinsurance calculators — are provided for exam study and educational purposes only. They are not designed, tested, or certified for use in professional engineering, field installation, medical practice, or any safety-critical application. Do not use these tools to make real-world decisions. Always consult a licensed professional and refer to applicable codes, standards, and official sources for any field work.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any VoltExam content without our prior written permission.
- Scrape, spider, or use automated means to extract questions, answers, or other content from our platform.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent any paywall, access restriction, or security feature.
- Share your account credentials or allow others to use your account.
- Use our platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Impersonate VoltExam or any other person or entity.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without refund.
9. Intellectual Property
All content in VoltExam apps and the website — including questions, explanations, illustrations, tools, branding, and design — is owned by VoltExam or used under license. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Services for your personal, non-commercial study use only.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VOLTEXAM AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, AND AFFILIATES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VOLTEXAM, DEEUN INC., OR ANY OF THEIR OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, FAILURE TO OBTAIN OR MAINTAIN A LICENSE, FAILED EXAM RESULTS, OR CAREER HARM — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN ANY CASE, OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO VOLTEXAM (OR TO APPLE ON VOLTEXAM’S BEHALF) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIABILITY LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless VoltExam, Deeun Inc., and their respective owners, officers, and employees from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Services in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law; or (c) your reliance on any VoltExam content for professional, field, medical, or safety-critical decisions.
13. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
Informal resolution first. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at arun@voltexam.com and give us 30 days to resolve the dispute informally. We will do the same.
Binding arbitration. If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in Georgia, United States, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
No class actions. YOU AND VOLTEXAM AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims.
Exception. Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within that court’s jurisdiction. Either party may also seek emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. To the extent any claim proceeds in court rather than arbitration, you consent to exclusive jurisdiction in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
15. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination for cause (e.g., violation of the acceptable use provisions), no refund will be issued. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund a prorated portion of any prepaid subscription fee for the unused period.
16. Service Changes and Discontinuation
We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue any feature, content, or the Services as a whole at any time. For significant discontinuations affecting paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable advance notice (at least 60 days for the web platform and at least 30 days for material feature removals). We will continue to update our iOS apps to maintain App Store compliance as long as they remain active in our catalog.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a revised version with a new effective date. For material changes, we will give you at least 14 days’ notice via email or a prominent notice on the website. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using the Services and cancel your subscription before the effective date.
